Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “In terms of our preparation I don’t think we could have got a better game and I was really pleased with the players’ effort.

“We have to improve on certain moments but, in general, I was really pleased with many aspects.”

City were a goal down in eighty one seconds and Pressley said: "It’s about experience and understanding in the early part of the game.

“We went from kick-off all the way back to Lee and we probably should have chosen to go quicker into the strikers. But these are all learning curves and there are a number of young strikers out there who will learn all the time, and that’s football.

“But I was really pleased in general and we responded well to that setback with some good football at times, and I am excited by the signs.”

“There were a couple of moments where we have to do better in terms of bread and butter defending but these are the games where you want to get those ironed out,” said Pressley.

“But in terms of our effort and working towards what we want to be we had some really good performances tonight.

“We must remember how good they were; they are a really good side and it was a really competitive game played in a really fast manner and I think we’ll take a great deal out of that game.”
