Boxing Day will be the 46th time that Coventry City and Cardiff City have met in league and cup matches. The Sky Blues have won on 18 occasions with 9 draws and have scored 69 goals compared to Cardiff's 68.

The last game between the two sides was back in October at the Ricoh which Cardiff won 2-1.

City's first ever visit to the Cardiff City Stadium saw a 2-0 defeat on Tuesday October 20th 2009. A poor Coventry side spent most of the game on the backfoot and went down to a fourth minute goal from Anthony Gerrard and a 58th minute Peter Whittingham penalty in front of a 19,038 crowd.
