Coventry City were denied a win by a super strike from Sam Kelly at Port Vale.

At the end of a week where James Maddison ended up back on loan to the Sky Blues, City travelled to Port Vale.

City gave debuts to Baily Cargil and Jack Stephens in a side which had new signing Darius Henderson on the bench.

Port Vale had all the play but the Sky Blues took lead when Jacob Murphy rounded Alnwick to give City a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute.

Darius Henderson was given his debut in the 64th minute when he replaced Maddison.

It was a substitute Sam Kelly who drew level in the 82nd minute with a super strike that flew high into the net to see both sides take a draw.
