Coventry City again had all the play and chances but went down to a defeat.

Mark Robins made one change for this game against a Glovers side who had won their last five matches with James Bailey coming in to the midfield in place of Stephen Elliott.

The crowd on a bitterly cold afternoon, was as low as expected after Tuesday night's full house against Crewe and the stewards were soon in action dealing with a green flare in the away end.

The smoke was still wafting over the ground as City and Yeovil in a luminous lime kit took to the pitch.

City, still smarting from Tuesday's 3-0 defeat, were straight on the attack and won a first minute corner before Madden fired wide at the other end.

In the ninth minute, Leon Clarke attacked down the left and won a corner. The ball ended up in the net but the yellow flag from the red shirted assistant referee on the Main Stand side was up.

City continued to look for openings. Bailey fired at Stech, who was also in the same colour red as the match officials.whilst his fellow midfielder Steve Jennings worked hard to win the ball.

Bailey had a shot. Yeovil went up end and Murphy saved with his feet from Foley for a corner and seconds later from Edwards' shot from the right.

In the 26th minute, the City players were arguing amongst them when James Hayter was allowed a free header which flew past Murphy's left hand post.

As the City fans in Block 14 launched into a chorus of "Go To Crewe And Win 4-0", the Sky Blues won two corners. Another followed in the 37th minute and this time, Stech grabbed the ball under the attention of Moussa.

We were reaching the half time interval and the assistant on the East Stand side must have been thinking about his half time cuppa as he was not up with play as Paddy Madden burst through and beat Murphy to give the visitors the lead.

City were forced into a change at the break on a cold afternoon when Blair Adams had to be replaced by Jordan Clarke.

A tame Leon Clarke header got the second half underway. But City continued to press with a blocked shot before a Bailey screamer flew over.

Mark Robins decided to change things round and sent on Stephen Elliott to boost the City attack for McSheffrey in the 52nd minute as City switched to 4-4-2.

Leon Clarke immediately won a corner and in the 55th minute, Elliott curled one onto the juncture where the post and crossbar meet.

Steven Jennings came flying in with a shot as did Carl Baker, who has announced this week that he is training to be a personal fitness instructor when he hangs up his boots.

Yeovil had a good chance in the 66th minute through Madden. City countered and Elliott had a curler caught by Stech.

With eighteen minutes left, Mark Robins made his final change and introduced John Fleck to the action which then saw Baker blast over and in the 79th minute, Elliott's shot on the turn was not far away.

With Leon Clarke not able to compete against the height of the exceedingly lanky Webster and Burn, City had to try something different. Baker won a corner with a drive palmed over by Stech.

Set pieces were not the answer as the corners City won, were either wasted much to the disgust of the East Stand or very easily dealt with by a Yeovil side more than happy to time waste.

The head for home for many City supporters in the crowd of 11,277 started with five minutes left and they trooped out unhappy that yet again City had the play and the chances but no goals and no points to show for it.
