WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 1-0 COVENTRY CITY BY KEV MONKS
A lacklustre Coventry City side went down to a 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
With Marcus Hall sustaining a medial ligament injury in his left knee during the win at Southend on Friday night, Micky Adams again showed that he is not a fan of the sink or swim method and reshuffled his pack rather than give a debut to reserve teamer Ryan Lynch at left back.

The City boss brought back Jay Tabb as City started with a 3-5-2 formation. David McNamee had started on the left but the Scot picked up an early hamstring strain and limped off after eleven minutes to be replaced by Jay Tabb.

The Irishman went close with a long ranger in the 15th minute but two minutes later, Wolves broke from a City corner,Jemal Johnson got into the penalty area and a shot deflected off Elliott Ward and past the stranded Marshall.

Jay Bothroyd,Gary Breen and Rohan Ricketts who started for Mick McCarthy's side were booed at every opportunity by a good City following of around a thousand.

City's best hope of getting back into the game came through Jay Tabb who again went close with a long ranger in the 25th minute.

There was no urgency from the Coventry side and the "Get Cameron Off The Pitch department some rows behind me were getting plenty of ammunition as our midfield was closed down by a Wolves side relying on mistakes by the City team in order to attack.

Not surprisingly, City were booed off at the break by a City support who had spent an hour and a half on the M6 plus £27 to get in.

This poor performance continued in the second half. Jay Bothroyd who was allowed to look nice and tidy on the ball was booked in the 55th minute and replaced five minutes later in a double substitute by the latest Molineux manager. One of those substitutes Leon Clarke clipped a post in the 67th minute.

In the 70th minute,Micky Adams made his second change bringing on Kevin Kyle for Michael Doyle who did not look best pleased at being replaced. Three strikers up front for City became four nine minutes later when Stern John came on for Matt Heath. Playing what could loosely be described as a 4-2-4 formation and with ten minutes left, the Sky Blues finally showed some fight.
In the 83rd minute. Adebola found Kyle on the right. The Scot nodded forward and Matt Murray made his first save scrambling the ball for a corner.

Unfortunately, Cameron and Hughes were as good as Grace Kelly at taking corners and all attempts came to nothing.

Leon McKenzie fired high and wide in stoppage time and the boos that echoed round Molineux on the final whistle were well deserved.
