With the vast majority having secured their Chelsea tickets, over eight hundred City fans including visitors from Holland made the journey to Carrow Road and were rewarded with Coventry City beating Norwich City 2-1.

The game came in what had been a great week to be a City fan with the wins against Birmingham and Blackburn and there were chants of "We're All Going To Wembley" from the City support in an attempt to drown out the home fans "On The Balll City" anthem.

Norwich normally, look good at home against us and traditionally this game is a home win for them but today, the Sky Blues made Norwich look like the relegation haunted side they are.

For the opening half hour, City were firmly in the driving seat with Aron Gunnarsson again doing plenty of running. The Ice man had City's first chance in the 7th minute with a neat run and low drive from distance that was only a yard wide.

David Bell, who was abused every time he touched the ball was a big threat early on. In the 17th minute, he slipped a ball into Leon Best which earned a corner and two minutes later, Bell sent the ball deep to the far post and there was Jordan Henderson, now ours until May 4th, to stroke the ball into the net.

In the 21st minute, a super tackle by Elliott Ward who had Carl Cort in his back pocket, allowed City to counter attack and get the ball to Bell. His shot was going in but it was deflected for the first of three successive corners.

Although, the weather was cloudy but not particularly dark, Norwich, for some reason, decided to put on their floodlights. These rays of lights in the corners of the ground did light up the home side who started to get back into the match.

They had a couple of corners and forced Westwood into a save but seven minutes back into the second half, the Canaries were level.

Sammy Clingan sent over a cross for Shackell. Keiren Westwood produced a brilliant one handed save to stop a certain goal. Unfortunately, the loose ball fell to a Norwich player rather than one in a black kit and it was Jonathan Grounds who drove the ball through a crowded box and into the net.

As we passed the hour mark, Chris Coleman's side got their foot back on the gas.

Clinton Morrison was let down by the standard of his finishing with two chances from the edge of the area failing to test the man in red - David Marshall.

When results go right for you, often decisions do as well and after Norwich were denied what looked to be a blatant penalty when Stephen Wright clearly handled, City tore into the home side.

First, Leon Best, a man whose work rate was again immense had two chances to find the net at the far post.

Best, like Henderson had been enjoying plenty of room on the right hand side but it was Danny Fox who this time, inthe 72nd minute, got the ball on the right.

Three times he tried to cut inside to get the ball on his left but on his fourth attempt, he managed it and sent a curler into the net at the far post before racing over to celebrate with the jubilant City fans in the Jarrold Stand.

We were very happy but the Norwich fans to our left and right were not and booed off their captain Mark Fotheringham when he was switched with eleven minutes left.

David Bell and Leon Best got standing ovations from the City support when they went off.

In the last seconds, our margin of victory might have been even greater when Clinton Morrison struck the bar but we were all highly delighted with the win and going through the month of February unbeaten.

As we partied on, to our right, some Norwich fans pushed and shoved each other whilst others booed the team off and called for the heads of their board.

Their misery and fear of being relegated to the third tier was our problem last year but a year on, progress has been made and in a week that will bring an FA Cup Sixth Round tie against Chelsea, we have a lot to smile about.
