Coventry City have won their first pre-seaon friendly match against Austrian regional side FC RFE Vöcklabruck .

It was little more than a training ground game in Wolfsegg and reveals little about either team with City including two trialists in their squad and Donovan Simmonds who had been released by Chris Coleman back in April.

FC RFE Vöcklabruck are a small club with average gate around 800, although between 300-400 watched the game.

For a game, known only to a few and certainly not many of the club employees, City trailed in the first half to the side from the Austrian Eastern League with a 41st minute goal from Rade Djokic.

Just before the end of the second of three thirty minute periods, The Sky Blues drew level in the 59th minute through substitute Donovan Simmonds before another substitute Robbie Simpson hit the winner in the 72nd minute.
