Coventry City are still looking for their first away win of the season

After another week in Sky Blue history of transfer embargo's and an ill manager (insert your own joke about having a bad side here), there was the little matter of the M69 derby.

Sales might have been slow to start but come kick off time, the Sky Blue Army was out in force at the King Power Stadium. However, despite the early noise from the City support, the Sky Blue Army watched a City side on the backfoot for most of the first half.

David Bell fired straight at former City loanee Kasper Schmeichel but in the sixth minute, referee Lee Probert awarded Leicester a penalty. Neil Danns stepped up but Joe Murphy went to his left to save.

We had just passed the tenth minute when Leicester attacking the end nearest the City suppport, when Murphy saved a shot and David Nugent was on hand to stab the loose ball into the empty net.

As the City fans enquired what League One was like, Alex Nimely who was City's best chance of a goal yet again, had a run and shot over.

Leicester started to control the game. Sean St Ledger volleyed over and Ben Marshall missed a glaring chance after some good work by Beckford.

Nugent headed at Murphy from a corner and by the half-time whistle, City were lucky not to have been three goals at least down.

It was no better in the second half.

A throw in the 59th minute, fell for Jermaine Beckford, who turned and beat Murphy to put Leicester two goals up and end the tie as a contest.

The City support was seething, There was ejections, fights in the away end and fans losing their tempers at either the p.w.q.i.s (people with questionable intelligence) to our left or right or the players in sky blue on the pitch, who showed that if this is how they play when they are up fora game then we have big problems.

Carl Baker and Sammy Clingan came on (Baker to a decidedly mixed reception) and in the 71st minute, Oliver Norwood, who today struggled to keep hold of the ball, was fouled and a penalty awarded.

Sammy Clingan, who had just come on, grabbed the ball ahead of Gary McSheffrey who had scored from his last two spot kicks and hit a poor kick that Schmeichel was able to get to.

Cody McDonald came on before Paul Konchesky, a player now back in a league more suited to his ability, karate kicked Alex Nimely and was sent off.

But it mattered not as City were yet again not good enough and went down to their tenth consecutive away defeat.
