Coventry City started 2017 with a 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers.

Callum Reilly, Stuart Beavon and Nathan Clarke all started on a sunny but cold afternoon for Russell Slade in his first home game as City manager.

In a tight first half, City took the lead when a Beavon cross was headed over for Reid to head on to Marcus Tudgay who headed home in the 36th minute.

Bolton were level in the 69th minute when submit Zac Clough scored from a penalty after the referee adjudged that Gary Madine had been fouled by Ryan Haynes who three minutes later, raced down the left and picked out Stuart Beavon on the edge of the area.

Beavon, on his debut, hit a lovely shot and the ball flew past Alnwick on his right.

Four minutes were added on and in that time, Max Clayton raced through to score and deny City another win.
