Coventry City were beaten 2-1 at Walsall this afternoon.

In the 40th minute of a game in which City, who were unchanged for the fourth game in a row, lost James Maddison to an early injury, it was Walsall who took the lead when Antony Forde broke down the left and fired past Lee Burge.

Six minutes into the second half and Tom Bradshaw scored a second getting through to score following a ball on the left.

Adam Armstrong hit the bar with a free kick and in their attack Jacob Murphy won a corner. He took the corner, played it short, got the ball back before cutting across and smashing a super strike from 25 yards into the net.

Both sides had chances but it was not City's day and they dropped to third in the League One table with their first defeat of the season.
