Coventry City were held to a draw by Brentford.

On a sunny afternoon at a ground which has cost City £50k to play this second of three final games at, Steven Pressley made changes to the side which lost at Walsall and gave a debut to youngster Ryan Haynes, who became the ninth player to play at left back this season.

With potential investor Preston Haskell IV, who enjoyed meeting supporters more than the game, in the crowd watching on, Brentford in their all black kit, had the first chance of the game in the fifth minute with a blocked free kick and then won two corners.

Ryan Haynes, the Covsupport News Service City U18's Player Of The Year, took his time to get into the game and after a shaky start with an airshot and a throw in, Haynes grew in stature winning headers.

City won two corners with the second was played back by Jennings for a Brentford corner and it was only the fact that Clayton Donaldson missed getting near a ball that Forshaw had bounced into the ground and over Joe Murphy that City were not a goal down.

Baker fired over in the 21st minute and Wilson had a shot hooked away.

Haynes, who was being talked through the game by Wood, was being applauded every time he played a pass before The Bees went very close through Donaldson and Douglas.

There was a minute left of the half when City were awarded a penalty when there was a shove on Richard Wood following a free kick and Carl Baker easily beat Moore to give the Sky Blues the lead at the break.

Fifty three seconds into the second half, the Bees attacked down the left and a cross was met by Harry Forrester to draw the West Londoners level.

A 51st minute Fleck long ranger hit Moore in the face and had to be scrambled away.

Three minutes later, Haynes sent a cross onto the roof of the net. Jenning cleared off the line following a corner on the hour mark.

In the 65th minute, Steven Pressley who has been turfed out of his hotel room and his office since he was appointed at City, replaced James Bailey with David Bell.

Auborias Encore might have been romping home in the National but it was the Sky Blues who were on the back foot with some good defending by Richard Wood clearing yet another Bees attack.

Cody McDonald was sent on with seventeen minutes to go of what was becoming a total bore of a game.

The City support who deserve so much credit for what we have had to endure over the last few years, found their voices and choruses of Sky Blue Army echoed around the ground.

Arron Martin headed wide from an 82nd minute Bell corner as another chorus of 'SISU Out' boomed out of the two stands for City supporters which may be one next season if certain rumours are to be believed.

Callum Wilson, who had struggled due to a lack of service, did have a run on goal in the 86th minute before he was stopped and Donaldson missed a sitter in the final minute as both sides took a draw.
