City End 2015 With A Draw At Chesterfield

Coventry City ended 2015 with a 1-1 draw at Chesterfield.

A superb turnout of City supporters saw a Sky Blues side with six changes to the team that had beaten Port Vale take to the field at a rather packed Proact Stadium.

Chesterfield lost Cov Kid Ian Evatt who was stretchered off in the 18th minute but twenty minutes later took the lead when Evatt's replacement Lee Novak headed in an O'Shea free kick.

The City support wanted changes at the break but there were none and it was not until the 64th minute that Armstrong and Murphy came on for a City side which had their manager Tony Mowbray sent to the stand with ten minutes left.

With just over two minutes to go, Maddison was fouled and got up to take the free kick. Lee was out of position and Maddison had tons of space to curl into the net and earn City a point.
