Coventry City are through to the  EFL Trophy Quarter-Finals after a 3-0 victory over Brighton U21's.

Russell Slade made eight changes for this Round 3 game at the Ricoh Arena and his side had the better of the chances in the opening half.

It was not until the 41st minute that City were able to make their possession pay off when Ruben Lameiras fired into the North Stand net.

Chris Stokes in his first game back from injury was replaced for the second half by Jack Finch who started the move which saw Jodi Jones get down the right and cross for George Thomas to head City into a 2-0 50th minute lead in front of a crowd of 2,085.

Brentford target Ben Stevenson came on in the 76th minute for City who booked their place in Thursday morning's Round Four draw with a lovely goal from Ryan Haynes in the 88th minute.
