City Can't Stop Wigan

Coventry City became the latest League One club unable to stop Wigan Athletic from winning.

At the DW Stadium, City who had to drop James Maddison from the bench after initially naming six loanees, started cautiously against the league leaders.

John Fleck hit the post for City in the 23rd minute in a goal-less first half.

Eleven minutes into the second half and Wigan took the lead when Max Grigg bundled home.

Grigg had a penalty saved by Charles-Cook in the 65th sphinx for a City side which gave Joe Cole, Jacob Murphy and Marc Antoine Fortune, against one his former clubs, a run out.

City defended reasonably well but have now gone three games without scoring and that is something that needs to be addressed.
