City Blitz Colchester

On the 75th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz, Coventry City paid their respects with a 3-1 win at Colchester United

With no Joe Cole yet again on a wet afternoon at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, the Sky Blues were straight on the attack with two chances in the opening five minutes.

However, in the 19th minute, it was the home side who took the lead when a ball into the box was turned past Charles-Cook by Bonne. 

City drew level in the 32nd minute when Jacob Murphy got to a Fortune passed and slotted past Jones. 

Eight minutes later and Jacob Murphy kept his cool after being left alone to put City ahead.

Then, three minutes into the second half, Lameiras ran and got in a shot which Jamie Jones fumbled and Marc Antoine Fortune tapped in the loose ball to give City a 3-1 win.
