Speaking to the Press Association after the game which Leeds won 3-2, the Coventry City manager said: "We've been doing well and I warned against it, that in the Championship you have to be at your best al the time.
"In the first half there was no doubt who was the better team. You can't give yourself the uphill battle we gave ourselves. It has to be used as a lesson that when you are successful for a period of the season, you don't rest on your laurels.
"Their goals were poor goals. It was us that allowed the opposition to score. Snodgrass' was a good finish but I could probably score if you let me run through.
"You want to be playing in full stadiums and challenging at the top of the league, but it's a 46-game season and there are no gimmes in any league, never mind the Championship, and that's why it's tight.
"We want to send people home happy. The fans want to see a winning team and players that have a go. If you can get a team like that then you start to fill stadiums.
"We had the crowd today, but not the result, and that needs to be used as a positive because it doesn't feel very nice tonight."
