Speaking to the CT, The Scouser said: "The manager has spoken to me and told me that I may have to play a few more games at centre back and that is not a problem with me as long as I am playing.
The fit again defender added: "I think that position would be better for me in terms of avoiding injuries and I think that is where he is coming from in saying I might have a few games there.
"We are a centre back down anyway with Scott Dann leaving so it is not a problem for me."
