Jordan Wiliis has admitted that he is delighted to be back in the first team fold.

The defender who came through City's ranks had come back from a knee injury which required an operation to feature in the games against Rotherham and Barnsley ahead of schedule.

“I came back a week earlier than I expected really, but it has been great to go straight back into the side and it’s just been a case of dealing with the challenge and getting through the games,” said Willis to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“I tore the cartilage in my knee earlier in the season so I had keyhole surgery to repair it and trim that little piece away. It had been troubling me in the pre-season and I rested and them came back from it, but it re-occurred eight weeks ago so went for the op.

“Ideally I would have played a couple of games in the Under-21s to get my sharpness back but luckily I have been able to deal with the pace of the games, which has been really pleasing.”
