Willis Back For City

Coventry City have their captain Jordan Willis available for tomorrow's League One game at home to Gillingham.

Willis has served a ban after being sent off in the defeat at Northampton Town last month and is expected to be included in Russell Slade's squad for the game which the Sky Blues must win, if they are to have the faintest chance of staying in this division.

Slade told Laura Hunter about Willis: “Jordan Willis is in my thoughts, it is a difficult decision as I thought defensively we’ve done okay. We’d also like to get fresh legs in there."

Yakubu is again expected to be part of the squad after making his debut against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night but the City boss will make a late decision as to the fitness of Stuart Beavon, who has missed the last two matches with an injury he picked up during the EFL Trophy victory over Wycombe Wanderers.

City have Chris Stokes back training but he is unlikely to feature.

Former Coventry City striker Cody McDonald is expected to be in the Gillingham squad along with one day wonder Rory Donnelly. However, former City loanee Bailey Cargill is injured.

Gillingham boss Ady Pennock is hoping to have on-loan striker Joe Quigley available after being given clearance by AFC Bournemouth to play.

Chris Herd could be involved if he over-comes a hamstring strain.
