Williams On City Goal

Adie Williams was delighted after scoring his first goal for the Sky Blues . He told the club website "We were 1-0 down at half-time and the lads were looking at themselves thinking how were we losing?

"I thought that during the second half, we put in a fantastic display – every player battled for the ball – and possibly, we just had that little bit of luck with deflections and blocked efforts which we have been looking for the last few weeks. It was a good performance though. "My goal came from a great ball in by Doyle and I think Dean Leacock is a little bit disappointed that he didn’t score! It just sort of hit him that’s what you want – a tap in from a couple of yards. But I would have bought a goal for anyone to be honest with you.

"I thought that on chances, we dominated the first half. We had balls flash past the post but they scored from a set-piece and are very powerful with some good lads.

"To go in 1-0 down was a real blow but the second half was great." "Luke was outstanding and didn’t put a foot wrong. The wind was strong but what he came for he collected or punched so I was pleased for him because he took a little bit of stick – and rightly so – but we’ve all made mistakes and he put his hands up to that.

"Now we’ll kick on unbeaten in 2005! We all laugh about it now – but let’s really see how long we can go unbeaten."
