Rumours, Rumours, Rumours

There have been rumours flying round all weekend and on Monday, that Coventry City could play at Nuneaton Town when their contract at the Ricoh Arena ends.

The contract for City to rent the Ricoh Arena to play their league and cup matches, plus U23's and FA Youth Cup ties, is due to end next season and with the Butts Park Arena, now seemingly out of the picture due to Coventry United using the facility alongside Coventry Rugby Club and Coventry Bears Rugby League team, a move to Liberty Way, which is the biggest football ground in Warwickshire, now seems the only option available whilst the likes of Joy Seppala, Tim Fisher, Mark Venus, Laura Deering and co remain at the club.

Sisu and the Otium Entertainment Group have an at best strained relationship with Wasps and the second judicial review which is set for a future date, is understood to be not helping to foster any good relations between the Ricoh Arena owners and the Sky Blues.

Liberty Way, is up to National League Standard and has a capacity of 4,500 with 514 seats which may suffice.

That is, if City, do as many expect, end up dropping into the non-league.and the majority of those who said they are not renewing season tickets etc, find something else to do on their Saturday's and midweek or pack up going due to City losing their Football League status or won't travel as CCFC are not playing in Coventry.

City have used Nuneaton to stage a couple of first team pre-season games over the last couple of years and regularly loan players to the National League North side with Darragh Leahy and Devon Kelly-Evans, the latest, so a move to Liberty Way when the Ricoh Arena contract ends might not be out of the question.
