According to his tweets, Noel Whelan has applied for a job at Coventry City and hopes to hear today if he is successful.
Whelan tweeted: "Well I find out if I have a job at Coventry fc tomorrow , since my meeting 2 weeks ago with the club ,doesn't look very good.
The former City striker, who has been coaching for three years after passing his UEFA B licence 5 years ago and completed the UEFA A first part four weeks ago, has it is understood from his tweets, to have offered to be a coach working with the strikers as well as helping with the Academy.working for a minimum wage.
