Former Coventry City forward Noel Whelan is hoping to impress with his cooking when he appears on the BBC's Celebrity Masterchief.

Whelan, best remembered for some stunning goals, and his love of Leamington night life, joined City in 1995 and left for Middlesbrough in 2000.

He is one of 24 celebrities taking part in the programme which will first be aired on July 2nd.

Meanwhile, Ellery Cairo has joined Dutch side NAC Breda. The winger failed to set City alight and spent most of his one season in the reserves before he was released back in April.
