Speaking to Sky Blue Player, the former Everton man, who scored his first goal of the season from open play, said: "It's obviously nice to get another goal but to be honest it doesn't mean much because we haven't won the game.
"The boy put in a great second half performance but we weren't at it in the first half and unfortunately we gave ourselves a mountain to climb.
"We've got ourselves to blame a little bit because we've got to start sharper than we did. What we need to do is try and take our second half performance into Tuesday against Forest.
"All the lads were talking saying they wanted to put in a good performance to keep people coming back because the atmosphere was fantastic so it's really frustrating to not have won the game."
