According to The Daily Star, Keiren Westwood will leave Coventry City and join Sunderland on July 1st.

Westwood's contract at the Ricoh Arena runs out at the end of this month and there has been plenty of speculation as to where he will go.

The paper claims that Sunderland have beaten Wolves to the signing of the Republic Of Ireland international who won three successive Player Of The Year Awards with the Coventry City South Wales and Irish Supporters Clubs and says that 'Wolves wanted Westwood after releasing Marcus Hahnemann but were told he was Sunderland-bound.'

City are expected to now go for Scunthorpe's Joe Murphy and Northampton's Chris Dunn who are both free agents on July 1st.
