As reported on this site on Monday, Coventry City's goalkeeper Kieren Westwood has pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad because he has flu.

Ireland take on Norway in Dublin tonight in an international friendly and Westwood's place will be taken by Scunthorpe's Joe Murphy.

Westwood started to feel unwell during the game at Crystal Palace on Saturday and his condition worsened on Sunday. He spent Monday in bed and pulled out of the Ireland squad.

Coventry City's manager Aidy Boothroyd is hopeful that his 'keeper will be sufficiently recovered by Saturday and will be able to take his place in goal when Burley visit The Ricoh.

In a short statement Boothroyd said to the CT: "He's stayed at home for a few days and fingers crossed he will be OK for the weekend."
