City have not won for eight matches but Wood told Sky Blue Player: "All of the lads are just desperate for that next win and if we can keep putting in the kind of effort we did against Sheffield United then we will get there.
"We played well and did better than we have been doing recently performance wise because we have struggled a bit recently in the last few games.
"It was a better team performance against Sheffield United but we're obviously still disappointed with the result.
"It was unfortunate that we conceded in the second half and I hold my hand up for th goal to be honest because then it became diffucult to get back in the game because it knocks you a bit. But we made a couple of tactical changes after that and we had a right go in the second half."
