Competition is hotting up for the signature of Coventry City's player of the year Richard Keogh.

Sheffield Wednesday are the latest club to enter the race for the 25 year old central defender who had a year left on his contract with the Sky Blues.

Coventry are negotiating with Keogh and his agent as they want him to lead the promotion challenge to win back a place in the Championship, but have hinted that they would sell the  player if a substantial fee were offered.

Bristol City have had an offer, said to be around £250,000 rejected as derisory and Cardiff City, who appear to be favourites to capture Keogh should he leave Coventry, have made an offer, believed to be in the region of £750,000, but that too was rejected.

Leeds United are also keen on Keogh and are following the situation with interest.
