Webb The Referee For City V Oldham

Last updated : 15 December 2015 By CNS Staff

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game against Oldham Athletic on Saturday is David Webb.

Mr Webb took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a programme at a match and through talking to referees whilst playing local football. He promoted to the National List of Referees in 2008.

He cites one of his favourite games as the FA Vase 1/4 Quarter-Final game between Kirkham and Wesham v Coventry Sphinx FC, saying 'the match had everything both teams just going for the win it was end to end for 120 minutes played on a mud bath of a pitch and ended 3-3!!!'

His last City game was the 1-0 home win over Colchester United back in April 2015 and other City games he has refereed are the 2-2 draw at Notts County in April 2013, the 1-0 defeat at Carlisle United in January 2013,  the 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers on March 8th 2011 and a 1-0 win against Burnley on November 20th 2010.

His assistants are: Andrew Hendley and Adrian Waters. The Fourth Official is Mark Jones.
