The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game against Colchester United is David Webb.

Mr Webb took a refereeing course after seeing an advertisement in a programme at a match and through talking to referees whilst playing local football. He promoted to the National List of Referees in 2008.

He cites one of his favourite games as the FA Vase 1/4 Quarter-Final game between Kirkham and Wesham v Coventry Sphinx FC, saying 'the match had everything both teams just going for the win it was end to end for 120 minutes played on a mud bath of a pitch and ended 3-3!!!'

His last City game was the 2-2 draw at Notts County in April 2013 and other City games he has been in charge of are; 1-0 defeat at Carlisle United in January 2013,  the 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers on March 8th 2011 and a 1-0 win against Burnley on November 20th 2010.

This season, Mr Webb has had 29 games (eight of which have been League One matches) and has shown 66 yellow cards and four reds.

His assistants are: Robert Merchant and Nigel Smith. The Fourth Official is David Benton.
