Speaking to The Mirror, Ward said: "It was all due to complacency - us thinking that we are a big team after we won at Birmingham.
"It felt like we thought it would be a stroll and we never got going.
"They were very hard to break down and I don't think we would have scored against them if we had played two games back to back."
