Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that he wants City in the top half of the table by Christmas.

Speaking to the club website, the City boss said:I don't blame the fans after last season because it was very difficult. But regardless, we stayed in the league and now we've a chance to start afresh with a clean slate and build our own team which we are trying to do

"I understand fans' optimism because for eight years really the Club has been in intensive care but if someone is in intensive care it is not a case of giving them an aspirin and hoping they will feel better. It needs a lot of work and alot of help and that takes time.

"Just because we've signed some good players in the window, and hoping to get one or two more good players, we're still not there in my eyes.

"We will still have another tough season, but I think it will be a more fruitful season and we hope to give fans something to shout about."
