CNS Sport are backing the calls for the Coventry -City Of Rugby initiative to be scrapped.
The "City of Rugby" Steering Group is a formal collaboration between the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Rugby Football League (RFL), Engage! Coventry, Coventry Sports Network, Coventry Rugby, Wasps, Coventry Bears, Warwickshire RFU, Premiership Rugby, Coventry Sports Foundation, Coventry Sports Trust, Coventry City Council, University of Warwick, Coventry University, C&W Chamber of Commerce, Coventry Schools Union and the Millerchip Family Fund.
To promote just one sport in the City of Coventry, is in ours and many other citizens of Coventry opinion just wrong and we are surprised that Coventry University and the University Of Warwick, who run teams etc in many sports are involved in such an eletlist group.
The sports of Rugby Union and Rugby League both have their place in Coventry's sporting fabric but they have to take their place along side all the other sports that are played in our historic city.
Therefore, we back the calls for the City Of Rugby steering group to be scrapped and support calls for a group that will promote every one of the sporting teams and every sport in the city of Coventry.
