We Made A Good Team Look Average - Boothroyd

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd said after the Sky Blues 1-0 home defeat to Swansea City that City had made a good team look average.

"We gave a very good team a hiding for long periods and we made them look average. I don't say that lightly because I really respect Brendan and his team," Boothroyd said to the Press Association.

"But what cost was a mistake by one of our defenders and an unbelievable error from the man in the middle. We are all human, we all make mistakes but that was glaring.

"It was a WWF move from their keeper. It's a penalty so give it. Their keeper took one of our players out and then dragged another one down.

"I sound like I am making excuses but this is the worst I have felt for a long time because the players have really worked their socks off and done really well for long periods.

"If we had scored a goal from the penalty it would have put a different complexion on the game and the momentum would have been with us.

"There will be no sulking. We are professionals and we will lick our wounds and get over this - that's what we have to do. I think we are good side and the players can walk out of here with their heads held high."
