Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has admitted that his side are in for a tough afternoon on Sunday against Coventry City.

Grayson told the Lancashire Evening Post: I think that’s how they will have started the season. “The messages from the manager to his players will have been, ‘Everything’s going against us. Go out and affect the things that you can affect by going out and getting results on the pitch’. “Obviously, they have started the season well.

“Coventry is a big football club. They were in the Premier League for many years not so long ago.

“They have had their problems but I don’t think the players have allowed that to affect them. We have seen that in their results and performances this season.

“They won up at Carlisle last week with a great performance and beat Bristol City 5-4, which is another great result.

“We know that we are in for a tough afternoon.

“They have still got some experienced players, who know the division. They are a threat throughout have got some talented players.”
