We Have To Reposition The Ricoh Arena - Robinson

New Arena Coventry Limited Chairman Chris Robinson has said that the challenge is to reposition the Ricoh Arena as a multi purpose arena.

“The main challenge is to reposition the Ricoh Arena as just that - an arena - and to lessen the impact of people thinking of it solely as a football stadium," Mr Robinson who has joined from Hearts told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert.

“There’s the opportunity for concerts, boxing, rugby sevens, other rugby matches - there’s lots of different opportunities and we won’t pass up on any of those that come along.

“It’s not being used as intended with a full time professional football club, but there are uses. It has been used four or five times in the past month.

“We are always looking to attract tenants, I’m not sure they would necessarily be an anchor tenant because a lot of the exhibition business has overtaken what we would have earned from a sports franchise.

“But it makes sense to have a sports tenant. We are always talking to people in the background.”
