We Have A Point To Prove - Baker

Coventry City captain Carl Baker feels that City have a point to prove against Rotherham United tomorrow.

City travel for their first ever visit to the New York Stadium after being beaten 3-0 by The Millers at Sixfields and Baker told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole. " We’ve got a point to prove because that was one of our most disappointing performances so far.

“It’s been getting harder as the season has gone on and I think that’s a compliment to us.

“Early on people would have looked at our squad and thought they could bully us – we were getting a lot of space and turning teams over.

“Now they’ve realised we’re a really good side so they come here to close things down and if they go away with a point they’re delighted. I spoke to some of the Oldham lads after the game and they were really buzzing so that shows how far we’ve come.

“They caught us with a sucker punch just before half-time, the same as Peterborough did, so that’s something we’ve got to look at because it makes it a lot more difficult if the away side has got a lead to sit on.

“We knew they would put everybody behind the ball so we’d have to be really patient but in the end it wasn’t a bad performance and the fans got behind us really well because they could see how hard we were trying.

"It’s disappointing not to get the win but if we can get a result at Rotherham that would make it a good point.

“We perhaps need to mix it up a little bit, find a Plan B. But the gaffer’s a top man and he’ll work out another way for us to break teams down.”
