Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that City did not want to lose Callum Wilson.

The City said about Wilson, who has joined AFC Bournemouth on a four year deal for a fee of around £2.25m-£2.5m, to Nick Connoll: “We didn’t want to lose Callum but he has gone about things in the right way both for him and the club and I totally respect that.

“We wish him all the very best. He had a wonderful season last year and deserved all the praise and accolades that came his way.

“The way he has handled his move has allowed Steve Waggott and I to achieve the best possible deal for the football club – and that means being able to re-invest in the team."
