We Cannot Lower Our Cup Prices - Kosky

Coventry City are not able to lower the prices for FA Cup ties.

Some City supporters feel that the £20 for adults and £10 concessions which is being charged for Tuesday night's Third Round Replay against Portsmouth and the Fourth Round home tie against Sunderland if City win that game, is too much.

Speaking about the prices in City's matchday programme against Barnsley, City's Commercial Director Nathan Kosky said: "There are a number of factors which influence the pricing of tickets for FA Cup ties.

"First anf foremost, the FA sets minimum prices for tickets which mean we are unable to run promotions such as "Kids For A Quid". Another factor is that the prices must be agreed by both clubs involved in the fixture. Prices are set before the first game, so factors such as TV scheduling are unknown.

"Most crucially of all, it is important to strike a balance between the right price and any potential increase in attendance. Unfortunately, research and our experience proves that lowering ticket prices never produces a significant increase in numbers and only results in the club losing valuable revenue."

Tickets for the Third Round Replay on Tuesday night are on sale now and should City win, tickets for the Fourth Round will be on sale, directly after the game.
