We Are Taking The League Cup Seriously - Thorn

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that his City team will be taking their League Cup tie at Bury seriously.

Much was made of Aidy Boothroyd’s decision not to field his strongest team in the defeat at Morecambe in the competition last season but Thorn has assured fans that this won’t be happening whilst he is in charge.

Thorn will be without Sammy Clingan and possibly Aron Gunnarsson if he signs a new deal as there are international fixtures on the Wednesday but he told Sky Blue Player: "I have never played or taken a team to Gigg Lane before but I have scouted there.

"I don't care who the opposition is, we will be taking every single match very seriously.

"We want to build momentum and a winning mentality and whoever is in possession of the shirt at the time will play.

"This draw has heightened anticipation ahead of the new season and we can't wait to get started."
