Joe Elliott has said that the perception of some Coventry City Board members that himself and Gary Hoffman is not the opposition is not true.

Speaking on Talk Sport to City supporter Richard Keys and Andy Gray, Mr Elliott who forced to stand aside from his Life President's role at the club due to his friendship with Gary Hoffman by the board, said: "Gary (Hoffman) has some investors that going to be meeting with the owners.

"The board is trying their best to bring investors to the club and I was contacted four weeks ago by a board member to see what I knew about one possible investor.

"Myself and Gary seem to be the opposition we are not. We love Coventry City Football Club and all we are trying to do is to give the owners the option of talking to somebody who wants to look at and discuss Coventry City Football Club and the possibility of one day owning our wonderful Ricoh Arena and that one day must come into the discussion.

"The fact that the Ricoh Arena is a tremendous stadium and the Council who own it, along with the Higgs Charity have done a great job with it. It is an integral part of the City of Coventry as is the football club."
