Coventry City Chairman Ray Ranson continues to be refuse to be rushed into making a decision about appointing a new manager.

It is understood that City have had over 120 serious applications for the position which became vacant when Chris Coleman was sacked last Tuesday and these have to be sifted through and scrutinized by the Board and Associate Directors plus owners SISU before any decision on a new man can be reached.

"I have spoken to a number of people but we are not going to rush into anything because this is a decision of vital importance to the club," Ray Ranson said to the CT.

"The fact that we have had so many managers interested in taking over - and the level of candidates - highlights the fact that the Coventry job is still highly sought-after.

"There has been a broad range of people in touch but they are all UK based.

"There are some very good managers out there but, as I said before, we will not take this decision lightly or rush into anything.
