Wasps have said that they will carry on with their plans for a training complex at the Alan Higgs Centre.

Coventry City's owners voiced their objections in a statement yesterday but Wasps CEO David Armstrong told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: : “We won’t be withdrawing our planning application but we are very happy to sit down with Coventry Sports Foundation and CCFC to see if a practical solution can be found - which we believe is very achievable.

“In fact I texted Chris Anderson (managing director of CCFC) three times over the weekend and yesterday asking if he would meet to discuss options but he declined.”

Chris Anderson who is representing CCFC at the Football League AGM in Portugal said: “Mr Armstrong contacted me after the publication of our statement.

“Given the technical nature of the discussion we would need to have, I asked him to put his ideas to me in writing, which he has declined to do.”
