Wasps owner Derek Richardson has told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert that Wasps are not interested in buying Coventry City Football Club.
There are many City supporters who were hoping that the Rugby Club would buy the club off SISU but Mr Richardson said: "It’s enough to get used to following the oval shaped ball without trying to follow the round one as well.
“I don’t understand football at all, I understand supporters and what they need to get and be given.
“We have such a big mission to complete with Wasps that in my view it’s better not to have anything diverting our mind or our attention away from that.
“We have a massive passion for rugby, all my time is taken up by rugby. If I tried to get interested in football as well it would be too much work.”
Richardson did say however, that he like the City support want the Sky Blues to continue playing for as long as possible at the Ricoh Arena and said: “When we started looking at the facility, they weren’t there. Our original plan didn’t actually have them at the facility.
“It’s definitely good to have them there, there’s no doubt about that. That facility needs to have as much use as possible and it gets much more use from a football club than it ever would from a rugby club.
“But, because the revenue to ACL is relatively low in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t make or break the business by having them there.
“It’s a massive marvellous facility and we have 16 matches a year. It’s crying out to be used as much as it can be used, we’ve no reason at all not to have the football club there.
“I hear they might have plans to build their own stadium, naturally if they are going to do that, we would be very respectful of them and wouldn’t stand in their way - even if we could.
“They’re contracted until 2018 and it’s good for them to stay.
“I can’t see us ever doing anything that would mean we didn’t want to have them with us.”
