Was Hughes Left Out Deliberately?

The real reason as to why Stephen Hughes missed the trip to Sunderland is, if rumours from a number of sources are to be believed, that the midfielder and Sky Blues skipper has signed a pre-contract agreement with the North East based club and will be joining them at the start of next season.

It is known that Sunderland had expressed an interest in Hughes a while ago but talk of a move has subsided in recent weeks.

The official line given for Hughes absence is that he is suffering from flu.
