Ward Won't Be Shoved Out

Coventry City defender Elliott Ward has said that he will not be forced out of the club and is in no rush to leave.

Ward is out of contract at the end of the season and Chris Coleman has made it clear that the former West Ham defender is not part of his plans.

Speaking to the CT, Ward said; "Sometimes you have to move on and that might be the case for the next six months but I have still got six months left on my contract and I am still enjoying it.

"It went down to the wire with another Championship club during the last loan window but it didn't happen so I'll just get on with things and wait to see what happens in January or even at the end of the season.

"It is probably preferable to be somewhere where I am wanted as a number one rather than hoping to be involved like Saturday because you want to be first on the teamsheet no matter what position you play in. So yes this would be lovely but I'm in no rush to get away and if I'm still here on February 1st that's fine.

"People might start shipping goals and then they might need defenders so it is one of those situations where I will keep training hard and see what happens.

"Anything is possible but at the minute I don't think I am going anywhere. When I am needed I will be ready and if I can keep performing like I did on Saturday then I will be happy with myself."
