Elliott Ward's loan to Doncaster Rovers is unlikely to be extended.

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman, who has said that the centre half is not part of his plans, had loaned Ward to Doncaster for a month but it not appears that Doncaster don't have the finance to allow Ward to stay at the Keepmoat Stadium for the rest of the season.

"Financially, we can't afford it," Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll said to his club's website when asked about if he wanted to extend Ward's loan.

"Elliott has done really well for us and we would definitely be interested in the summer, but at this point - again - you can not know what we can and can not do financially."
