Coventry City defender Elliott Ward will be treated for an chipped bone in an ankle on Monday.

Ward who was forced to play in the game at Charlton last Sunday due to its importance, will have an injection on Monday to ease the problem.

"I'm getting my ankle done on Monday," said Ward to the CT. "The bone is chipped and the best thing they can do is an injection which will mean I will be off my feet for a few days.

"I can't do anything for five days but then I can start using the bike, and as long as everything goes well I should be fit well before we come back for pre-season."

That pre-season schedule will see City in Scandinavia with a couple of home friendlies and a reserve team game at Nuneaton Borough.

Nuneaton, who are close to administration, have said they will play City at Liberty Way in pre-season. City Reserves opened the Liberty Way stadium which Nuneaton rent from Nuneaton Rugby Club and used it for nine out of eleven Pontins League matches.
