Tamworth coach Mike Fowler has said that Dexter Walters has a fantastic chance at Coventry City.

Walters played the second half of City U23's 4-0 win over Coventry Sphinx on Monday evening and scored the fourth goal after showing some good play.

Speaking about Walters to the Birmingham Mail, Fowler said:  “I have already told Dexter, ‘I hope I never see you back here on loan’.

“As much as people would love to see him back, that would be purely for selfish reasons.

“He has got to go to Coventry now and develop his game and set his sights high.

“I am sure he will do that. He has got to draw on his new experience and give himself the best opportunity of pushing on further.

“I have told him to stay humble, which I am sure he will because Dexter and his family are very humble and grounded.

“I just wish him all the best there.

“There are three things I mention to young players. Hard work, ability and opportunity and Dexter has married the three together this year.

“With Dexter, ability has never been in question. He’s also put in the hard work over the summer and he’s come back in and been given his opportunity. Now he has been give a fantastic chance.”
