Walsall manager Dean Smith has been approached according to various reports about replacing former Coventry City player, academy coach and caretaker manager, as the manager of Brentford FC.
Carsley has been the interim manager and will take charge of tomorrow's game against Bolton Wanderers but media reports today say that Brentford want Smith who has worked well at Walsall, taking them to a Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final and keeping them in the top six this season.
